Dear Mitch,
Okay, I’m shockingly bad and have failed to respond. Many apologies. It was to a large extent because I have been struggling to think about what it is about these generated images that I actually think / feel / intuit …
So, my initial response was, I guess, best characterised as a degree of confusion – a ‘what am I looking at here?’, ‘what is the medium in play?’
There is a looming quality about most of them, a hint of menace in the swirl of light and movement
And following that, my next thoughts were that these look like a generic set of images for a speculative fiction novel (especially a graphic novel) or a TV show. There is a looming quality about most of them, a hint of menace in the swirl of light and movement, a bit of a gothic element to the buildings in several of them (those that didn’t replicate Parliament House); or those with moons and sparkly stars / lights that to me seem to infuse a sort of old-fashioned romanticism.
Finally, how I felt about handling them: a sense of distance. I suspect this is the AI generation that does not, to me at least, hold the trace of the maker’s hand; more of a sort of compilation of elements that has an alien quality that doesn’t resonate, doesn’t seem to want to let me engage.

Don’t know if that makes any sense? But overall, I didn’t feel it would connect with me, or that I could connect with it. Possibly a matter of my antiquity and not being a digital native? And a matter of the imagery not aligning with what I seek in visual art.
Such an interesting project, Mitch, and I feel bad that I can’t glow about the images, but you know … 😊
